The Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has rejected the petition filed by Chris Agu of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) against Peter Mbah. Agu had accused Mbah of using a forged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate, lacking the necessary qualifications, and engaging in corrupt practices. However, the Tribunal, led by Justice Kudirat Murayo Akano, ruled on Thursday that Agu failed to provide sufficient evidence to support these claims. The Tribunal also found no proof of a plea bargain involving Mbah. Additionally, the panel stated that to substantiate forgery allegations, the petitioner must produce both the original and forged documents. Furthermore, the Tribunal rejected the argument that Mbah did not secure a majority of the votes in the election, as the witnesses could not specify the polling units or provide results for such claims.
