Some of the presidential hopefuls for 2023 have arrived at the Presidential Villa’s Old Banquet Hall in Abuja for the Ramadan Iftar meal hosted by First Lady Aisha Buhari.
Some of the attendees had already arrived by 6.20 p.m. for the event, which was supposed to start at 6.30 p.m.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Chris Ngige, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, and his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, were among the presidential hopefuls who arrived early and were seated when the ceremony began.
Other officials from across political parties in the country attending the dinner include the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio; one-time National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Barnabas Gemade; former Speaker Yakubu Dogara; and businessman Tein Jack-Rich.
It will be recalled the First Lady had invited presidential aspirants to Ramadan Iftar dinner at the State House Conference Centre.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife in an invitation letter instructed the invitees not to come along with their mobile devices, except for their invitation cards which would serve as their entry pass.
The directive, however, does not apply to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and governors and ministers who will be at the meeting.
