The Federal Government has successfully repatriated 190 Nigerians who were stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This development was announced in a statement by Mr. Bashir Garga, the National Emergency Management Agency’s (NEMA) zonal director in the North Central, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The returnees arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 5:57 a.m. on Tuesday, where they were welcomed by a combined team of government officials led by NEMA.
Upon arrival, the returnees underwent profiling and documentation by relevant agencies and were advised on the importance of upholding decorum and responsibility as they reintegrate into Nigerian society.
The Federal Government emphasized the need for all Nigerians, regardless of their location, to act as exemplary ambassadors by adhering to the values of patriotism, rule of law, decency, and integrity.
Further details on the repatriation process and assistance for the returnees are expected to be provided by NEMA and other relevant agencies.
