The Lagos State Police Command has made significant progress in its investigation into the tragic death of Nigerian Afrobeats singer Mohbad, revealing several suspects in the case. Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023. His death has stirred controversy and raised questions about the circumstances leading to his demise.
The police have identified Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, as the prime suspect in Mohbad’s death. Additionally, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Primeboy, and one other individual have been named as suspects in the case.
According to Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa, five suspects have been identified, arrested, detained, and interrogated regarding their alleged roles in the events that led to Mohbad’s death. The investigation revealed that Ogedengbe administered multiple potent injections to Mohbad at his residence on September 12.
The injections contained Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and Cetrazone, an antibiotic. Following the administration of these medications, Mohbad experienced an immediate adverse reaction, including vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions. Owohunwa emphasized that Ogedengbe was not qualified to perform the role of a home nurse and did so in a non-clinical environment in a professionally negligent manner.

These injuries ultimately contributed to his death.
Mr. Ayobami Sadiq, aka Spending, has also been named as a suspect. He is suspected of conspiracy to commit a felony for inviting the auxiliary nurse, Ogedengbe, to the scene.
Sam Larry, whose real name is Samson Balogun, was arrested and remains in detention due to his alleged complicity in Mohbad’s death. His arrest is also related to viral videos posted by the deceased about bullying and assault.
Similarly, Abdul-Aziz Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, has been detained in connection with the case, sharing allegations similar to those against Sam Larry.
The police commissioner revealed that Mohbad’s remains were exhumed, and an autopsy and toxicology test were conducted on September 21. The results of these tests are currently pending.
