Segun Sowunmi, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claimed on Thursday that some of the people who helped President Bola Tinubu win election are now ashamed of their actions.
This was said by Sowunmi in response to the debate over President Tinubu’s degree from Chicago State University (CSU).
The certificate President Tinubu provided to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had been the subject of rumours that it had been faked.

On Thursday night, Sowunmi claimed that because of the scandal surrounding Tinubu, people like former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode now had their tongues restrained.
He said, “Every time I remember Kemi Adeosun, I ask myself, What did she really do? Every time I remember Salisu Buhari, the very first speaker in those days, I ask myself, What did he really do? And Seun, there are 40 million Yoruba groups; that’s the estimation.
“There are 222 million people in Nigeria, and there are 93 million registered voters in Nigeria. The verdict that is in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s hands is by 8 million people.
“Shall all of us who are not part of that 8 million now say to ourselves that we’re now at the proudest moment of our lives wherein, under deposition, documents are flying about? Some are saying female, some are writing male, and some are saying he came with the social security number that is tracked to a woman. Look, let me tell you, Seun.
