Details of the discussion between the Labour Party’s national leadership and freshly elected Senators and House of Representatives members on the party’s platform have emerged.
According to news sources, the National Chairman of the party, Lawyer Julius Abure, and other party leaders were present during the interactive strategy session on Tuesday in Abuja.
The gathering also included Peter Obi, the LP’s presidential candidate in the February 25 election, and Oseloka Obaze, a former governorship aspirant in Anambra State.

Obi claimed in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle that the meeting discussed leadership and working modalities for the 10th National Assembly’s incoming MPs.
The former Anambra Governor also stated that the interactive session with the new legislators was quite beneficial.
He wrote: “Earlier today, the leadership of the Labour Party (LP) held an interactive strategy session with Senate-elect and House of Representative-elect members. The session which discussed leadership and working modalities for the incoming legislators was very constructive. – PO”
Remember that the LP gained six senate seats and 34 House of Representatives seats in the February 25 presidential and national assembly elections.

In another article, former Information Minister Labaran Maku said that both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expected Peter Obi to make little progress in the 2023 presidential race.
He did, however, say that the successes of Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP), and the obidient movement startled Nigeria’s two major parties.

Maku stated on Channels TV Sunrise Daily on Tuesday that they thought Peter Obi lacked the framework to win elections, but the outcome of the 2023 presidential election dispelled their fears since the youngsters demonstrated initiative and took the advantage of the situation.
The former Minister spoke against the backdrop of the PDP and APC’s setback at the hands of the Labour Party in Nasarawa State’s presidential election on February 25.
