Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has fired back at Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, who accused him of bad governance in an interview with AIT over the weekend. The governor said Araraume is propagating falsehood against his administration.
Uzodinma, who spoke through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, said that contrary to Araraume’s allegations, he has built several kilometres roads.
Recall that Araraume accused the governor of constructing very bad roads that spoilt weeks after commissioning.
Emelumba said the statement was a blatant falsehood aimed at denigrating the governor and whittling his influence. According to him, the governor has completed more than 20 roads within 11 months and about 10 others ongoing, and added that the governor kicked off the Owerri/Okigwe and Owerri/Orlu roads last week which will cost N55 billion.
According to him, residents appreciate what the governor had achieved in health, civil service, resuscitation of critical infrastructure and industry, including youth empowerment.
He dismissed claims by Araraume that he was more experienced in politics than the governor.

“The question is where was Araraume in the 70s when Uzodimma was the Youth leader of NPN and not somebody who was Chairman of APP in 1999”, he said.
