The United States of America has ordered the evacuation of “non-emergency” personnel and their family members in Nigeria, hours after alerting the world to a potential terrorist attack on Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.
In a statement on Tuesday, October 25, the American administration stated that the evacuation was essential because of “the increased potential of terrorist strikes.”
They claimed that terrorists might carry out assaults with little or no prior notice.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the US government issued a security alert on Sunday, claiming that terrorists were preparing attacks on a variety of locations, including government buildings, houses of worship, schools, markets, shopping centers, hotels, bars, restaurants, sporting events, transportation hubs, law enforcement offices, and international organizations.
However, the US government has taken further steps to ensure the safety and security of its citizens by ordering the evacuation of some of them.
The updated statement reads in part; “On October 25, 2022, the Department authorized the departure of non-emergency U.S. government employees and family members due to the heightened risk of terrorist attacks. The U.S. Embassy Abuja continues to have limited ability to provide emergency assistance to U.S. citizens in Nigeria. The U.S. Consulate in Lagos is providing all routine and emergency services to U.S. citizens in Nigeria.”

Nigeria’s federal administration has replied to the warning by asserting that the nation is now safer than it was in the past and advising inhabitants and residents not to harbor any fears.
The security situation in Nigeria is not as severe as some people are portraying it to be, according to Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, who made the statement on Tuesday.
He claimed that despite government and military authorities continuing to work hard to improve conditions, the nation has recently been safer.
The Minister also criticized the British and American embassies for releasing security alerts regarding potential terrorist strikes in Abuja, the country’s federal capital.
