After remaining quiet for days, the Department of State Services (DSS) has now acknowledged the sting operation that was conducted on the Trademore estate.
Contrary to rumors spread online, the DSS’s spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, stated in a statement that its officers had conducted the raid alone.
The Nigerian military and DSS agents carried out an operation, but no foreign military forces were present, according to Afunanya.

The DSS official also refuted claims that explosive devices had been discovered in the home of the state-arrested suspects. However, he withheld any other details concerning the occurrence.
The invasion of disguised secret service agents on Tuesday caused fear among the residents of Trademore Estate.
The operation was in response to the United States Embassy’s security alert and travel advice, which revealed a plot by non-state actors to cause terror in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
