The Embassy of Saudi Arabia has confirmed the cancellation of visas for 177 Air Peace passengers from Nigeria upon their arrival in Jeddah, citing a violation of the country’s entry rules. The passengers had reportedly submitted incorrect information to obtain a category of visa that did not apply to them, a discovery made upon their arrival at the King Abdulaziz International Airport – Hajj Terminal in Jeddah.
According to reports received by the Nigerian Consulate in Jeddah, Air Peace Flight No. P4-752 transported 264 passengers from Lagos and Kano to Jeddah on Monday, November 23, 2023. Upon arrival, Saudi Immigration authorities informed 177 passengers that their visas had been canceled, resulting in their return to Nigeria on the same flight, while 87 passengers were allowed entry into Jeddah.
In response to the situation, the Saudi Embassy in Abuja clarified the deportation, emphasizing that the affected individuals had failed to fulfill the entry conditions and requirements. The embassy stated that the passengers had submitted incorrect information to obtain a visa category that did not apply to them, leading to their deportation to their initial destinations.
