Omoyele Sowore, a former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, has claimed that telecom firms are specifically targeting Nigerians in an effort to hinder their capacity to organise and communicate ahead of the August 1 demonstration.
Sowore further claimed in a Monday post on his X account that the nation’s current fuel crisis was brought about to quell Nigerians who were preparing to demonstrate.
He underlined that Nigerians are more committed than ever to putting a stop to the nation’s poor administration.

He said: “FUEL CRISIS has been introduced to stifle Nigerias planning #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria
TELCOS – @MTNNG @GloWorld @AirtelNigeria are deliberately targeting Nigerians to slow down their ability to communicate and mobilize.
Nigerians are determined more than ever to #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria during the #DaysOfRage
#Nogoingback #RevolutionNow.”
This event comes after some Nigerians planned to organise a national demonstration that was set to take place from August 1 to August 10, 2024.
The demonstration organisers have voiced worries over the nation’s pervasive hunger and inflation.
