In Northern Cyprus, three Nigerian students have been detained for possessing marijuana with the intention of selling it.
One of the individuals who attempted to flee had to be forcibly apprehended by police units during the incident, which took place in Lefkosia’s capital.
One of the suspects’ apartments was searched by the police, and they discovered 29 packages of cocaine, each weighing around 30 grammes and ready for sale, along with 5,000 Turkish lira (167 US dollars).

According to the police, two other suspects who stayed together had their apartments searched later.
Two kilogrammes of drugs and three sensitive scales thought to contain drug residue were discovered during the search and taken as evidence.
The suspects made voluntary statements, the drugs that were taken into custody will be submitted for examination, and two persons who were wanted asked to be detained for three days, according to the police, who also said that the investigation was still ongoing.
In Northern Cyprus, marijuana is not allowed to be consumed for recreational or commercial purposes.
