In a shocking incident, a 42-year-old man named Dele Agboola was tragically shot dead by unidentified assailants in Ada, Osun State. The incident occurred on Thursday, around 8:40 p.m., leaving the community in shock and mourning.
Reports indicate that the assailants, numbering three, posed as customers visiting the medicine shop belonging to Agboola’s wife, located in the Pako Area of Ada. The unsuspecting victim had already left the shop and returned to his residence. However, a few minutes later, he returned to the shop to retrieve his mobile phone charger.
It was during this brief return that the three men approached Dele Agboola, confirming his identity before fatally shooting him. Following the attack, the assailants swiftly fled the scene, leaving residents in panic as they scattered to avoid any further violence.

Temitayo, a resident of Pako Area, Ada, provided an eyewitness account of the incident, expressing the belief that three individuals were involved in the attack. The tragic shooting took place on Thursday evening, sending shockwaves through the community.
Relations with the deceased prevented security operatives from immediately taking away Agboola’s remains for autopsy. Consequently, he was laid to rest on Friday morning, around 8:30 a.m., in a somber ceremony.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps promptly launched an investigation. According to Kehinde Adeleke, the Corps’ spokesperson, Dele Agboola, known as ‘AGBO’ in his Ada town community, lost his life in a tragic shooting that occurred at approximately 8:40 pm on September 14, 2023.
The motive behind this heartbreaking incident remains unclear, and investigations are underway to uncover the identities of the assailants and the circumstances surrounding this tragic loss of life in Ada, Osun State.
