The traders say that their attempts to put an end to the thugs have been ineffective and that the extortion has made life intolerable. They carried posters urging Jelili Sulaimon, the chair of the council, and the government to step in.
The market leaders claim that ever since Jimoh Ejigbadero stopped collecting revenue, the collectors have been frightening Iyana Ipaja. They call for prompt action from the government.
The resentful women are pleading with Governor Sanwo-Olu to save them from these street kids’ clutches and bring tranquilly back to their marketplace.
