In a shocking development, all of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) executive committee members in Bende Local Government Area, Abia State’s Item Ward C, have resigned from the party.
The departure was announced in a letter to the Bende Local Government Area PDP chairman, copies of which were also given to the party’s Acting National Chairman and Chairman of Abia.

Francis Eke Okoye, the ward chairman, led the mass resignation, primarily blaming the chaotic situation inside the party’s national leadership as the impetus for their action. They also expressed support for their leader, Rt Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe, a former PDP presidential candidate, who recently broke from the organisation.
In the letter, the executive members articulated their grievances and unequivocal support for Ndukwe, stating: “We have observed with dismay the activities and disorderliness in the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party. We therefore tender our resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party in support of our leader, Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe.”
