A national demonstration against Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu government is gathering momentum in the North and other areas with the goal of drawing attention to the struggles faced by the people.
The demonstration, which is slated to take place from August 1–10, 2024, aims to raise awareness of the growing financial difficulties that people in all governmental levels confront.
Since Tinubu said in May 2023 that fuel subsidies would be eliminated, the nation has faced severe economic hardship. Concerns about other urgent issues, such as the rising cost of living, have been expressed by citizens.

On June 12, rallies against the rising cost of living, insecurity, and other national issues were organised by a number of civil society organisations, including the Socialist Workers League, the Education Rights Campaign, the Take It Back Movement, and the Coalition for Revolution. These teams are now supporting the upcoming nationwide protest.
Government representatives and law enforcement agencies are on high alert due to the demonstration that is planned to occur in all 36 states as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
On the other hand, Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress’s (AAC) presidential candidate for 2023, has been actively promoting the August demonstration on social media.
Well-known for spearheading a number of nationwide demonstrations, Sowore has declared that the revolution will start in August and that “Nothing Can Stop An Idea Whose Time Has Come” during the #RevolutionNOW campaign.
Similarly, a leaflet titled “End Bad Government in Nigeria 2024” that anonymous organisations were spreading on social media blamed the government’s ten policies for the unanticipated misery that Nigerians had to endure.
