Kenyan President William Ruto has disbanded his government, effective immediately.
Two weeks have passed since demonstrators called for Ruto’s resignation on the streets.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Vice President’s Office are unaffected by the dissolution of the cabinet.
“I have decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the cabinet secretaries and the Attorney General of the cabinet of Kenya, except the prime cabinet secretary and cabinet secretary for diaspora affairs.

“The office of the vice president is not affected in any way,” Ruto said in a televised address on Thursday.
In addition, Ruto pledged to hold extensive talks with representatives from various political parties and sectors in order to form a “broad-based” administration that will help him reduce the national debt, increase domestic resources, get rid of waste and corruption in government, and create more job opportunities for young people.
