The death of Igbo Jah, a well-known Ogene singer, by a police officer from the Enugu State Police Command’s Anti-Cult Unit has angered the Simon Ekpa-led Biafra Republic Government in Exile.
Igbo Jah was reportedly shot on Friday by a member of the Command’s anti-cult section.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the murder has sparked protests among Enugu State’s youth due to widespread outrage.

In response to Igbo Jah’s death, Ekpa said that Enugu State will be placed under lockdown on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in an effort to find the musician’s killers.
He believes that the state’s ongoing Igbo murders ought to stop.
“The entire Enugu State will be under lockdown on Tuesday, 29.10.2024. This day will be used to fish out the killers of this innocent man. Enough is enough,” he vowed.
Residents of Enugu and beyond, including Governor Peter Mbah, have denounced the popular musician’s death, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
