Ahead of YPP presidential Primaries holding today 8th September 2018 at the International Conference Centre Abuja. Engr Donald Igwegbu officially steps down for Prof Kingsley Moghalu.

Today, I made an uncommon decision to ‘Step Down’ for my senior brother, Professor Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu, as he officially becomes the Presidential Flag-Bearer of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) during our party’s National Convention scheduled to hold today being the 8th of September 2019 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria.
Professor Moghalu and I subscribe to the same vision of progressivism, patriotism and the dire need to put our Country First.
I have taken this uncommon route at this point in time not because I am not also qualified to serve our nation as President in 2019 but because of the urgent need for everyone to work together if we must confront our common challenges as a nation henceforth.
My vision for the New Nigeria of our shared dreams is beyond the 2019 elections. I believe in myself, I believe in you and I believe tomorrow is another day as we continue to put our faith in the almighty God.
Let me please use this opportunity to thank most sincerely every one of you my family members, friends, fans and supporters, who has been with me throughout this journey and who has subscribed to my candidacy in this 2019 Presidential race based on our shared aspirations, priorities, vision and objectives. Your unflinching supports are indeed very well appreciated. Thank you very much. I remain deeply committed to the Nigerian Project even as I have on this occasion endorsed Professor Kingsley Moghalu for the 2019 Presidential election.
I am deeply convinced that Professor Moghalu would make a very good president, he has the right pedigree, experience, purpose, energy and vision to fix our country along with other progressive like minds going forward.
I want to use this opportunity to urge every one of you all; my supporters, to please pass on your onerous love and supports to Professor Moghalu’s candidacy and together we shall build a New Nigeria that is fair to all.
As a faithful party man, I am wishing the YPP a successful National Convention today and a victorious outing in all our elections in 2019 and beyond.
I am challenging every Nigerian politician out there today to embrace my own style of politics that is devoid of hatred. We must play with love at heart. Nothing is so important in this life that we would rather sacrifice a soul to achieve it. There can only be 1 president at a time.
As a people, let us please summon a new spirit; a new spirit of love, sacrifice, patriotism, service and responsibility because our country beckons for good leadership.
Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.
