NNEWI: Entertainment is the “SALT” of every society, it acts as a cushion to the rigors of our daily endeavors. Entertainment eases tension and makes us forget some of our worries for that particular moment.
Entertainment industry when structured well is a great source of Revenue, it makes a place attractive to tourists, it attracts businesses to the community, in boosts real estate and hospitality businesses in that particular community or town. It reduces stress and depression thereby increasing the number of healthy people in that particular Society.
Nnewi is a commercial City, it can also boast of some manufacturing outfits. As far as Nigeria and particularly South-Eastern part of Nigeria is concerned, Nnewi is a commercial nerve center.

Anaedo Online have noted that the community has been lacking in entertainment Condiments , and it must be noted that no society is complete without an entertainment industry . After a stressful week, its only right that one has an option of being treated with different kinds of entertaining displays like Comedies, Stage dramas, Cinema, Songs etc .
Anaedo online had a chat with different people that make up the skeletal entertainment industry in the community , they were of the opinion that majority of people living in the community want to be entertained , however they lack the will to encourage entertainers financially .Some Nnewi based entertainers survive through their network of entertainers based outside of the community. The Nnewi based entertainers go for “outside shows” where they are handsomely paid . They lamented that community investors are very reluctant when it comes to investing in an Artist.

Anaedo Online did a survey among few Bankers, Doctors and medical Students on their opinion as regards the need for a vibrant entertainment industry in the community. They were all of the opinion that Nnewi needs a vibrant entertainment industry. However, they lamented the absence of a Night-life in the community, as most entertainment events take place in the Night .
Many people have offices in Nnewi but they prefer to drive to their offices from Nearby Towns like Onitsha , Asaba and Awka . Anaedo Online discovered that this development is as a result of lack of interesting activities in Nnewi , for Nnewi its about Buisness . They find Nnewi “boring”. The implication of this is that the value of Nnewi real estates diminishes because of reduction in demand , retailers lose customers to those towns , businesses relocate to those town that has more appeal , same will be said of tourists.
