OKOROCHA’S SON-IN-LAW DECLARES FOR DPP THURSDAY

Obviously convinced that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will not change the party’s position on listing Senator Hope Uzodimma as its governorship candidate in Imo State before Sunday’s INEC deadline for substitution of candidates for the 2019 Guber polls, former Chief of Staff to Imo State governor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, and his supporters may have concluded plans to defect to the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) to pursue his governorship aspiration.

Anaedooline gathered that Nwosu, who is also the son-in-law to Governor Okorocha will formally declare for DPP on Thursday.

It was also gathered that Nwosu has secured the backings of his father-in-law, Okorocha, who has however remained in the APC to pursue his senatorial ambition.

Okorocha disclosed on Tuesday in a parley with journalists at the Government House, Owerri, that he has tried his best to persuade a section of his Rescue Mission to remain in APC, adding that he could not stop them since they have made up their minds to seek their mandate in another platform.

According to the Governor “APC was known for uprightness, integrity, transparency and social justice but Comrade Adams Oshimole and his cohorts have destroyed the party with imposition and impunity. What they did in Imo State during the last primaries was outright rape on democracy.

“I have been resisting my political allies not to dump APC, but this time, they have vehemently resisted, but I advised them to form an alliance with any political party that does not have a presidential candidate because, for me, President Muhammadu Buhari and Uche Nwosu are my candidates for presidential and governorship elections.”

He assured that he will remain in APC to complete his tenure and pursue his Orlu Senatorial Zone Senate ambition.

Okorocha maintained that among the front line gubernatorial candidates in Imo State which includes Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha (PDP), Senator Hope Uzodinma (APC) and Senator Godwin Ararume (APGA), his son-in-law remains the best man to succeed him.

He, however, noted that he gave his son in law and other political associates who are set to dump APC a condition that they must support the presidential ambition of Buhari, warning that he would deal with them politically if they deviate from that.

On the issue of his critical political arrowheads that abandoned him and pitched tents with Senator Hope Uzodinma, he said that he is unperturbed because they were politically “deceived and brainwashed” into believing for better political opportunities.

Okorocha accused Senator Uzodinma of using his allies to fight him so as to achieve his selfish interest and at the completion of the job, he discarded them for lack of trust.
