AFCON: NIGERIA’S U– 17 TO PLAY IN TURKISH INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Nigeria’s under-seventeen men’s team known as the golden eagles will participate in an invitational tournament in Turkey as part of their preparations for the 2019 under-seventeen Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Tanzania in April.

The Golden Eagles, who are five-time world champions, qualified for the 2019 under-seventeen AFCON after winning the WAFU under-seventeen tournament in Niger Republic in September 2018.

Coach Manu Garba, who also led the team to global triumph in the UAE six years ago, has assured that the team would be ready for the challenges ahead of them.

The invitational tournament in Turkey will hold from first to tenth March with some other under-seventeen AFCON participating teams and a number of European teams in attendance.
