Suspended Ohanaeze Scribe, Okwukwu A Sell Out – OYC
The Youth Wing of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo has come hard on the suspended Secretary-General of Ohanaeze (Barr) Uche Okwukwu, over his claims that the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, was right on the issue of Igbo presidency.
The OYC spoke through its Secretary-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike and Mazi Obinna Achuonye, Deputy President of the organization.
Okwukwu had while backing Amaechi’s recent statement with regards to the 2023 presidency, noted that the minister’s assertion to the effect that Ndigbo had by an act of Omission or Commission shot themselves out of the presidency come 2023 was nothing but the truth.

“Nwodo and the likes of Mazi Okwu Nnabuike purportedly endorsed Alhaji Atiku Abubakar without affording Amaechi (then Director General Buhari campaign organization), the opportunity to present the reasons for the President’s bid for a second term.
“Amaechi and his fellow patriots had argued that it was better for Ndigo to vote massively for President Buhari to provide them space to politically and morally demand an Igbo President in 2023.
“The Question is if Atiku had won, will Nnabuike be asking for the Presidency in 2023,” Okwukwu had said.
Firing back in a statement, Okwu said that Okwukwu should be ashamed of himself for engaging in double-speak.
He said it was strange that same Okwukwu, who claimed to have mounted support for Buhari was again turning around to say that Ndigbo never supported the President.
“We are here again with men of double speak and double standard. I say this because Nigerians have not forgotten in a hurry how this same Okwukwu was at the Anambra Government House where he endorsed Buhari with his own followers.
“He was later at Aso Rock Villa, where he told Buhari to ignore the Chief Nnia Nwodo-led Ohanaeze. He told Buhari that Ndigbo was with him.

“He also endorsed Buhari at Abia State and addressed APC rally in Lagos, where he called on ndigbo to support Buhari and the governor-elect.
“Surprisingly, for reason best known to him, which is possible to serve an economic interest of the moment, he has now backtracked claiming that Ndigbo did not support Buhari.
“Going by what he said, it then follows that he deceived Mr. President into believing that he was with him just to get some pecuniary benefits at that moment. This makes it risky for anyone to deal with such a person who can sale-out any point in time,” he said.
Okwu maintained that the likes of Amaechi “or his now newly recruited attack dog, in the person of Uche Okwukwu will not stop Ndigbo from realizing their political ambition of clinching the presidency.”
