Update: Sit-at-home, Shops in Nnewi Deserted

Even at exactly, 12:19 pm, Today, Thursday, May 30, 2019, most shops along the popular Anglican Girls Secondary School, Uruagu Nnewi, was still under lock and key, the roads were free and must business centers deserted.

The situation which appears to be in response to the order made by different Pro-Biafra organizations is becoming a yearly reoccurrence, especially across the Five Eastern States.

For Mr. Chukwudi who refused to disclose his full identity while speaking with a reporter of *Anaedonline, he welcomed the development, stating that those who died during the war are heroes and should be honored. He commended the activities of the Pro-Biafra organizations, who have done according to him, what the Eastern Governors have refused to do, by declaring 30th of every May Public Holidays.

Expressing his own view, Mr. Udoka, who closed down his laundry shop, said that he was also satisfied with the development, he said, “I think this will send a message to Nigeria leaders that we are serious about having our own country, if you look at what has been happening, we have suffered in the hands of the Northerners, this country is a failed Nation, we can’t continue this way”

Walking around the streets, people were either standing in a circle discussing the issue of Biafra, some youths were also discussing the result of last night Europa League Final between Chelsea and Arsenal, which was won by Chelsea while others were simply pressing their phone.
