Goal keeping department in the Nigerian national team has been giving many Nigerian football fans sleepless nights as the available goalkeepers in our national team have not lived up to expectation.
On the 10th of Septempter 2019, Nigeria is expected to take on Ukraine in a friendly match and one inclusion on the list of Nigerian players that will take part in the friendly match which has generated reactions from the majority of Nigerian football lovers, is the new goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye.
The handsome young goal-keeper has left ladies droolling, with many of them directing flirty comments at him. The male football fans on their own part, could be seen analyzing the prospect and potentials of the new goalkeeper, some opining that the new addition is the replacement of the now-retired Carl Ikeme.

Reacting to the news of his call-up, Maduka Okoye expressed his gratitude towards Nigerians,” can’t express my feelings and how happy i am to get my first call-up for the super eagles. All praise to the most high. Thanks for all the messages,” he posted on his twitter page.
Maduka Okoye who is currently 19years, born to a Nigerian father and a German mother, plies his trade in Germany with second division side Fortuna Dusseldorf II.
Carl Ikeme was the ever-dependable Super Eagles keeper until protracted illness forced him into retirement, Nigerians are hoping that Maduka Okoye will mark the end of the woes super eagles have been experiencing in the goalkeeping department.
