Nnewi: Condolence Register Opens for Late Barr. Ofili Nwosu

Rains of tributes have trailed the demise of Nnewi Traditional Prime Minister, Chief Barr. Ofili Nwosu, who died on Wednesday, 9th October 2019, after a protracted sickness.Following his death, condolence messages are coming in droves since the family opened a condolence register at his Nnewi residence.

A visit by our correspondent to the residence shows that sympathizers were trooping in on daily basis to register their condolences to the bereaved.

Among those who have expressed their grief on the passing of the late icon, includes the Former Governor of Anambra State, Dame Virigy Etiaba (CON) and Nnewi North Transition Local Government Chairman Rt. Hon. Engr. Chukwudi Orizu.

Others are; Barr. Oseloka Osigwe, Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, Prince Africa Nwafor-Orizu, Mr. Hector Osondu, Prince Chinedu Orizu, Engr. Sir Emeka Nzewi, Barr. C. E. Okonkwo, Arc. Samuel Onweluzo, Mr. Obiora Osigwe, Chief Emeka Olisakwe, Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi, Chief Sir Boni Obi, Rev. Emeka Joseph, and many others.

Expressing their grief, Dame Virigy Etiaba wrote, “Ofili, it is well, God knows the best for you.

For Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, he wrote, ” You are my definition of a principled man. I am glad you lived your life as a Christian, and I believe you are with our lord. Rest on Sir”

Chief Emeka Olisakwe wrote, “Ebubedike, you will be in the bosom of the lord and God will be with your family”

Also, the Member Representing Nnewi North State Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Okafor ((Smart) has also sent his condolence message, he wrote;
“Chief Barr. Ofili Nwosu is a man that is more like a father to me”

“I first met him when I was a student of Federal Polytechnic Oko, where he thought me Common Law in my first year when he was a Senior Lecturer. His special leadership abilities and charismatic personality was indeed amazing”

“He was passionate about enabling our school to become a better place for students to learn. His life as a lecturer was exemplary. He was known as one of the very few lecturers no student could sort”

“He was then the Legal Adviser of the school and the Staff Adviser of Nnewi Students in the school. He supported and protected us like his biological kids”

“During my House of Assembly electioneering, he still showed his unwavering support to me as someone he had known in and out for almost two decades”

“In our town, Nnewi, Chief Barr. Ofili Nwosu was a man who stood for the truth whenever the need arises. The history of the peace and the progress we enjoy today in Nnewi, cannot be fully written or discussed without giving credence to him”

“Today, may not be a day of tribute for this great hero, but I am deeply saddened by his death, the best way we can all mourn him will emulate his life of humility and honesty”

At the time of writing, no date has been fixed for his funeral.
