Customs sells Rice to Lagos Residents at a Discounted Price of N10,000: In a move to ease the economic burden on Lagos residents, the Nigeria Customs Service has initiated the sale of rice at discounted prices. A recently shared video on the X handle of Nigeria Info FM vividly captured the scene as eager residents lined up in long queues, eagerly anticipating their turn to purchase rice at reduced rates.

According to reports from Nigeria Info FM, the Customs Service is offering a 25kg bag of rice for the affordable price of N10,000. This discounted rate has been made possible after obtaining government approval to sell seized food items at reduced prices to assist those in need.

Further details reveal that the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, officially announced the commencement of the distribution on Thursday. To qualify for the discounted price, eligible individuals must present a valid Nigerian Identification Number.

Adeniyi emphasized that customs officers are strictly prohibited from participating in the sales process, and beneficiaries are sternly warned against any attempts to resell the food items. The rice packages, each weighing 25kg, are available for purchase at the discounted price of N10,000, ensuring accessibility to essential food supplies for Lagos residents facing financial challenges.

This initiative by the Nigeria Customs Service serves as a testament to their commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during these challenging times. By providing affordable staple food items, they aim to alleviate the financial strain faced by Lagos residents and contribute to their well-being.
