The Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Budget and Implementation, Hon. Sir Melie Onyejepu, has assured Nnewi residents of state government’s commitment towards ensuring the control and reclamation of the gully erosion site at 100 Foot Nnewi.
In an Authority 91.9FM Nnewi program monitored by Anaedoonline, Hon. Sir Melie Onyejepu while answering questions from the anchor, Prince Afam Ofoeme, promised that work will begin in the erosion site immediately after the rains subside

According to him, the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano has awarded the contract to an internationally reputable company, IDC Construction Limited, and it is expected that in the next two weeks, they will be in the site to commence work.
Speaking further he said, “This Government is already intervening in the erosion site in Obiofia Nnewi where massive construction work is ongoing, at the cost of N6.8bn”
He, however, assured Nnewi residents and traders especially in Nkwo Nnewi, not to fear any further, as the state government is committed to resolving the age-long ecological challenges in the area.
