The Willie Obiano Support Group has honoured the National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye with Leadership Excellence award.
The award according to the group, was in recognition of the APGA’s National Chairman’s resourceful and purposeful leadership that led to what they described as an unprecedented growth of APGA that metamorphosed into a triumphant victory of Gov Willie Obiano reelection and subsequent good outing in 2019 general election.
This award was given at the occasion of the investiture of two new patrons of the group which were Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR, former governor of Central Bank and also a Board of Trustee (BoT) member of APGA and Hon Sir Uchenna Wiper Okafor, the honorable commissioner for commerce, industry and wealth creation, who also was a BoT member of APGA.
In his welcome address the national chairman of Willie Obiano Support Group, Sir Jude Emecheta, went down memory lane by speaking of the group’s core objective which, he said was anchored on grassroots sensitization and mobilization of Ndi Anambra to the good governance initiative of Gov Willie Obiano.
Emecheta also pointed out that both the national and state leadership of APGA helped in great measures towards enhancing the great impact of the support group in Anambra State.
The highpoints of the occasion were honouring the national chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Oye with Leadership Excellence award and the investiture of Prof Charles Soludo and Sir Uchenna Wiper Okafor as Patrons of the group.
In their remarks, Ozonkpu Oye described the group as a political catalyst that helped APGA permeate the grassroots and pledged to continue to support group in no small measures.
In their acceptance speeches at the venue, Prof Charles Soludo proclaimed that as a member of Willie Obiano Support Group he was honoured to be elevated to the status of a patron.
In his own speech Hon Okafor who was represented by the member representing Oyi in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Chinedu Charles Obimma thanked the leadership and members of Willie Obiano support group for finding him worthy of the investiture as a Patron

The event was chaired by the speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor, dignitaries at the event included, Obi Gibson Nwosu, Eze Uzu Awka who was the father of the day, Members of Anambra state house of assembly, National Vice chairman south of APGA, Ogbueshi Eboka, National youth leader of APGA, Comr. Anselem Nebeife, State chairman of APGA Anambra state, Sir Norbert Obi, the Managing Director of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah, the National Light MD/CEO, Sir Chuka Nnabuife all Transition Committee Chairmen in Anambra, All LGA party chairmen of APGA.
Others are the chairman of Willie Obiano support group Anambra central, Bar. Asha Nnabuife, That of north and south, Hon IykeRussia Umeh and Ezennia Akosa Mbanefo respectively, the national Secretary of Willie Obiano support group, Col Izukanne (rtd), Hon Cy Okereke, the national vice chairman of the group and all local government and ward coordinators and exco members of the support group.
