Electricity is no doubt one of the essentials of humans. Just as it is in Lagos area, residents of the entire Southeast states are currently groaning over the collapse of power supply early Saturday.
The lack of power supply is adversely affecting the activities of all kinds.
The grid, which is being managed by the government-owned Transmission Company of Nigeria, has continued to suffer system collapse over the years amid a lack of spinning reserve that is meant to forestall such occurrences.
The distribution company managing the zone – Enugu Electricity Distribution (EEDC) has, however, pleaded for patience as soon as the latest development reared up.

In messages circulated by its spokesperson Emeka Ezeh, the company reads,
“The Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers in the South East that the loss of supply currently being experienced is a result of a general system collapse which occurred at 04:36 hrs of 9th November 2019.
“Consequently, all our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States are out of electricity supply.
“We are on standby and awaiting a signal from the National Control Centre (NCC) for the restoration of supply.”
The situation is not different in other parts of the country.
Eko Electricity Distribution Plc, one of the nation’s distribution companies, disclosed that the grid collapsed at 11:15 pm on Friday and 3:15 am on Saturday.
“At 2315hrs, we experienced a system collapse across all transmission stations. Supply was received at 0315hrs. Sadly, at 0438hrs, the system collapsed again. TCN and our team are working to restore supply. Kindly bear with us,” the Disco said on its Twitter handle.
Another Disco, Jos Electricity Distribution Plc, announced to its customers that “there is a power outage in all our franchise states due to system collapse nationwide.
“We will provide an update shortly. Thank you for bearing with us,” it said on Twitter.
