AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles Stars Arrive Camp

Ahead of the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers clash with Benin Republic at Uyo on Wednesday, the camp of the Super Eagles of Nigeria officially opened on Sunday evening following the early arrival of vice-captain Kenneth Omeruo and winger Samuel Kalu

Confirming their arrival, the Super Eagle’s official Twitter handle, both players arrived in Uyo just after dinner time and were immediately settled into their hotel rooms.

Also expected in the early hours of Monday are goalkeeper Maduka Okoye who made a 13-year return to the country of his birth as well as France based Victor Osimhen.

The 2019 AFCON bronze medalists will begin their quest to reach yet another AFCON at the new look Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Wednesday afternoon against Benin Republic before flying to Lesotho four days later for their second match in the group.

Head Coach Gernot Rohr had already unveiled his list of 23 players for the clash with team captain Ahmed Musa making a return since he last featured at the AFCON in Egypt. Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is also coming in for injured Francis Uzoho.
