A Bill To Establish An Institution Of Aviation safety and management Mbosi, Anambra state has been read for the first time at plenary.

The bill was sponsored by the senator represented Anambra South Senatorial District, Ifeanyi Ubah.

This institute is aimed at meeting the needs of the aviation industry by producing well trained staff for the Nigerian aviation industry.

The institute will provide students with thorough training and aviation related services under international standards. Upon completion, the institute will be approved by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) under the umbrella of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to take up training which leads to issuing Certificates and License.

The institute will be a hub for employment and will attract students from all parts of the world and boost my constituency and State’s GDP growth tremendously.

If the bill is subsequently assented to, the Institute of Aviation Safety and Management Mbosi will offer Full-time, Part time and Correspondent (Online classes). The Certificate will be acceptable worldwide as the school will be a member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The primary aim of this bill is to contribute immensely to the growth of the country’s aviation industry by producing professionals for the travel and tourism industry and create employment opportunities. Students will be exposed to practical training by way of organizing programmes within and outside the country.

Conclusively, for the Nigerian aviation sector to thrive in the global economy, adequate institutions must be put in place to ensure that we competitively meet up with global aviation standards.

It is imperative that we pay more attention to the aviation sector, hence the need to Establish the Institute of Aviation Safety and Management Mbosi, Anambra. It is therefore my expectation that having passed the first reading, the bill will be read the second time and recommended to the relevant committee for further legislative action.
