Members of the northern elite are not happy with Bola Tinubu’s leadership, according to Prof. Khalifa Dikwa, Dean of the Borno Elders Forum. They have worries about the policies being implemented that are not in the best interests of the people and about the seeming incompetence of his appointees.

This was stated by Khalifa Dikwa on Wednesday’s Politics Today show on Channels Television.

“Not happy because each of these policies affects the north entirely,” he said, referring to the elites in the north.

The elder statesman claimed that the Tinubu administration’s nominations were “lopsided” and that “the majority of the appointees are either misfits, weak, or in the wrong places.”

Even “the southern elite should be annoyed because Nigeria is more than Lagos,” according to Prof. Dikwa.

He went on to call the 0.5% cybersecurity levy that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) recently imposed on electronic transactions “provocative” and requested that the President immediately order the central bank to halt the implementation of the new policy.

“This is not the time; it’s wrong timing. Why are they provoking the people of this country? They have taken enough,” he said.
