The Chicago mum also allegedly slammed the baby against the floor and told police she did so because the girl reminded her of her ex.
In an affidavit obtained by The Chicago Tribune, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Christina Dracopoulos said Singleton “imagined the ex-boyfriend” every time she looked at the girl.
He said: “Every time (Singleton) looked at the victim, (she) imagined the ex-boyfriend being there, and that’s why the defendant punched the victim.

The two-month-old was rushed to Lurie Children’s Hospital where doctors.
”Singleton admitted to police that she swung the girl over her head by the legs and slammed her onto the tile kitchen floor face first.
“Though Singleton claimed the incident occurred on Nov. 20, doctors believe it happened just hours before her father discovered the baby.”
The Chicago Sun-Times reported Singleton broke up with the baby’s father October but saw the tot regularly.
The toddler’s dad last saw the girl on November 18 when he attended her vaccinations.
Singleton, the tot, and the child’s father then had dinner, and he later dropped them both off at home, the Sun-Times reports.
After November 18, Singleton allegedly began making excuses as to why the child’s dad couldn’t visit.
He claims Singleton would say the girl was sleeping, or with a friend.
The baby’s dad allegedly met with Singleton at Starbucks, where he usually meets the mum to see his daughter.
Singleton allegedly arrived without the baby, and he became “freaked out” and ran to her apartment, where he allegedly found the baby girl unresponsive, reports the Tribune.
The two-month-old was rushed to Lurie Children’s Hospital where doctors said she had suffered a severe skull fracture.
Medics also found ten facial fractures, retinal bleeding and broken bones in her shoulder and leg.
Dracopoulos said many of the injuries were fresh, but doctors believe the baby “may have been abused since birth.”
Singleton is currently being charged with child abuse, but if the girl dies, she will be charged with murder.
The mum did not appear in court for her bond hearing on Friday because she was “being treated for psychiatric issues Friday at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center”.
Bail for Singleton was denied.
