An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered that a 35-year-old man, John Joseph, be remanded over alleged defilement of a 15-year-old girl.
Magistrate Olufunke Sule- Amzat ordered that Joseph be remanded at the Kirikiri Custodial Centre, Lagos, pending advice from the Lagos State director of public prosecutions.
Sule-Amzat, who did not take the plea of the defendant, adjourned the case until Jan. 30 for a mention, NAN reports.

Joseph, who resides at Ijegun area of Lagos State, was charged with defilement.
The Prosecutor, ASP Benson Emuerhi, alleged that the defendant committed the offense sometime in July 2017 and in March 2019, at No 6B, Felix St., Ijagemo Road, Ijegun in Lagos.
Emuerhi alleged that Joseph had sexual intercourse with the underage, in contravention of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
