Enyimba Football have sacked Usman Abd’allah as the Technical Adviser of the club following a string of unimpressive results from the Nigeria Professional Football League defending champions.

In a statement from the club chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu, it said in the interim, coach Fatai Osho will take over the head coach duties as all other announcements on this subject will be made later.

Former Enyimba coach, Usman Abd'allah
“This is not a decision we have taken lightly, nor in haste.

“Results and performances since the start of this season have been very unimpressive and the club must take action to forestall further setbacks.

“We are speaking to the players too and they must do better otherwise there will be consequences. As Enyimba we are committed to earning positive results always and we can’t accept nothing less.”

“The Club wishes Coach Usman Abd’allah the best for the future and thank him for his service,” he said.

It was however gathered that Usman was forced to resign following poor performances, loss of faith in him by the management and Enyimba Supporters Club call for his sack.

The 4-0 defeat to league leaders, Plateau United on Sunday was the last hit that nailed Usman’s fate in the Enyimba dougout.

It was learnt that Enyimba management had planned to sack coach Abdallah by noon Monday but he heard of the plan and instead threw in the towel.

The Supporters Club, it was understood, also called on the management of the club to do away with coach Abdallah despite his leading the team to their 8th NPFL glory last year.

Enyimba have not won a match in their last 5 games both in domestic and continental outings with a record 3 draws and 2 wins.
