- Three men, on Monday, died in a fatal road accident along Lagos-Ibadan highway, while 14 other persons sustained various levels of injuries in the accident that happened around Saapade axis of the highway.
Report had it that two vehicles were involved in the accident: a Mazda bus with registration number, AKD 53 XN, coming from Ibadan to Lagos and a Ford bus with registration number, GB 490 XA, coming from Lagos to Ikire.
- The All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted the “prayer walk” (protest) held by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, led by Pastor E.A Adeboye on Sunday.
According to the ruling party, the new method of operation adopted by the terrorists was to pitch the Christian and Muslims against one another.

- A Federal High Court sitting in Makurdi, on Monday, declared the Federal Government’s plan to establish RUGA Settlement and cattle colonies in Benue State was unwarranted, unlawful and unconstitutional.
The court presided over by Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon, while delivering judgement, said any move by the Federal Government to compulsorily acquire land for RUGA Settlement or cattle colony in Benue State without the approval of the Benue State government was null and void.
- The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged on President Muhammadu Buhari to call Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the party to order.
The state chapter of the party said Oshiomhole was “hell-bent” on disrupting the peace in Edo State by provoking people of the state with his actions of disrespecting state government directives.

- Vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last general election, Peter Obi, has revealed ways to tackle insecurity in the country.
Obi, who maintained that the state of insecurity in the Buhari led administration is the worst ever, urged the government to focus on reversing the loss of jobs.
- The crisis rocking the local government administration in Oyo state took another swift as one person, identified as Abdulasisi Isa was shot dead on Monday during a clash in Surulere Local Government Area of the state.
The deceased was said to have been killed when supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and those of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), clashed over who is the authentic Chairman of the Local Government Area.
- Organised labour in Niger state, on Monday, instructed its workers to embark on an indefinite strike from February 4, over non implementation of the new national minimum wage

- A Coalition of Civil Society Organisations, on Monday took over major streets in Enugu metropolis protesting police alleged brutality on members of staff of a non-governmental organisation, Women’s Aid Collective (WACOL).
The protesting human rights activists were drawn from Carmelite Prisoners’ Interest Organization, (CAPIO); Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action, (PRAWA); Civil Liberties Organization, (CLO); Women’s Aid Collective (WACOL) among others.
- Following Okada ban in Lagos State, students and workers in the state were stranded on Monday morning at various bus stops while others were trekking to their various destinations.
Report said that horses have now emerged as a new means of transportation by residents of the State.

- Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday, disclosed that there is an ongoing plan to bookrecruit more troops and officers to beef up the personnel of security agencies.
Laolu Akande, Osinbajo’s spokesman, who made this known in a statement on Monday, said the vice president received at the Presidential Villa, clergymen from the Northern part of Nigeria under the aegis of the Arewa Pastors Forum for Peace/
