Action returns in Champions League as Chelsea tackles Bayern Munich in the first leg of the round of 16.

The blues will be without Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi who will not feature at Stamford Bridge due to injury, as reported by Football London.

N’Golo Kante is also ruled out, as Chelsea boss Lampard confirmed that the key midfielder would miss the next three weeks prior to their victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues were also without winger Pedro at the weekend, but Lampard has confirmed that he is back in contention during this pre-match press conference.

Tammy Abraham could lead the line for Chelsea against Munich though, as the striker featured as a substitute on Saturday after completing his recovery from injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is included in the squad and will bolster their midfield following the disappointing loss of holding-midfielder Kante.

While Chelsea’s top scorer Abraham wasn’t fit enough to start on Saturday, Olivier Giroud produced a performance that could see him retain his place for the visit of Munich.

In his prediction, Charlie Nicholas said Bayern will ease to a resounding 3-1  win against the london billioners.

The Blues will be looking to build upon their 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the London derby on Saturday afternoon after Frank Lampard’s side made a much-needed return to winning ways.

Olivier Giroud scored in just his third start of the Premier League season before Marcos Alonso secured three points in the second half to bolster Chelsea FC’s top-four hopes.

The Blues have conceded 37 times in 27 games in the Premier League this term – only Burnley have conceded more goals in the top half of the table than Chelsea FC.

Bayern will be hoping to expose Chelsea FC’s defensive issues when the Bundesliga leaders make the trip to the English capital on Tuesday night.
