Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has expressed frustration over scheduling of Sunday’s Derby against Manchester City.

United qualified for the FA Cup quarter-final on Thursday, following a 3-0 win at Derby County.

The Red Devils played 24 hours after their rivals City, who saw off Sheffield Wednesday 1-0.

“I cannot believe why there’s a derby on Sunday and we’ve got to play Thursday night. What’s the point in that? That doesn’t level the playing field,” the Norwegian said.

It’s Manchester United v Manchester City for the fourth time this season, as the two crosstown rivals once again go head-to-head in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday.

It’s currently 2-1 to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side across the three previous meetings this season, although both of united victories came at the Etihad Stadium.

City came out on top in M16 in January and are seeking a fourth consecutive league win at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Reds beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in December, thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Mike Dean will take charge of Sunday’s match. The Premier League’s most experienced referee has officiated over 500 matches in the competition since 2000, as well as five Manchester derbies in all competitions. Dean will be assisted by linesmen Darren Cann and Dan Robathan, with Anthony Taylor as fourth official. Andre Marriner is responsible for VAR reviews, with Stephen Child his assistant.
