Just In: NCDC Confirms 20 New Cases Of Coronavirus, Toll Rises to 131

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC on Monday night confirmed twenty new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

According to a tweet from the NCDC, 13 cases were discovered in  Lagos, four in the FCT, two in Kaduna and one in Oyo State.

However, The total coronavirus cases across the world has just hit 735,015, with about 34,806 deaths recorded.

One of the worst hit countries in the world and the epicenter of Europe, Italy recorded 10,000 deaths already.

According to Johns Hopkins University official records, the number of people infected with the virus in the United States hit more than 104,000 with deaths surpassing 1,700.

In Italy, more than 10,000 people have died since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the latest data from the Civil Protection Agency.

Out of the 735,015 infected across the world, about 156,137 people have recovered.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported fourteen new cases of coronavirus in the country, taking the total number of infections to 111.

According to the NCDC and reported by Anaedoonline.com, nine new cases were confirmed in Lagos while five new cases were confirmed in Abuja.

Of the 111 cases confirmed in the country, one death has been recorded.

NCDC said, “Fourteen new cases of #COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Lagos and 5 in FCT.

“As at 09:30 pm 29th March, there are 111 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death.”

Information from the NCDC shows that as of 10:40 pm on March 28, 2020, Lagos had the highest number of cases with 59, followed by the FCT with 16 cases. The number of cases in Oyo surged to seven, Ogun had three while Enugu, Edo, Bauchi and Osun states each had two cases.
