We’ll Investigate Fire Outbreak At Accountant-General Office

The Minister of State for Finance, Clem Agba, has said the federal government would investigate the cause of the fire outbreak that occurred on Wednesday at the Treasury House, Abuja, which houses the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

Agba ssaid this while briefing the press at the scene of incident on Wednesday.

“Our records are intact. But we will still investigate the fire to find out whether it was due to electrical spark or if it was induced. I have only told you what I have been told,” he said.

He said the fire happened inside an office on the third floor.

“A staff came in and put on the generator and there was a spark. But all our records are intact,” said Agba.

However, The Federal Fire Service says the fire which occurred on Wednesday morning at the Treasury House, headquarters of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, has been extinguished.

The building is located beside the Federal Capital Territory FCT Police Command in Garki, Abuja.

FCT police commissioner, Bala Ciroma, told reporters at the scene of the incident that an investigation into the cause of the fire had commenced.
