Coronavirus: Seven-Up Donates Free Drinks For Nigerians

The Seven-Up Bottling Company has announced donation of one million bottles of Aquafina drinking water brand and other beverages in its portfolio to the Lagos State Emergency Food Relief to support Nigerians during the coronavirus lockdown.

Another one million bottles, according to the firm, will be donated to other states to support containment of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement via its social media pages, the company said the donation was in aid of efforts to cater for citizens in vulnerable communities during this coronavirus pandemic.

Its Managing Director, Mr. Ziad Maalouf, said the gesture was to affirm the firm’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during the tough time.

He expressed gratitude to those at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus, stating “SBC believes that we are stronger together when we take collective action to help each other stay safe.”

Meanwhile, The leadership of the National Assembly has faulted the way the Social Investment Programme(SIP) of the Federal Government is being implemented.

It called for enabling legislation on Tuesday in Abuja in line with global best practices.

President of Senate Ahmad Lawan and Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila made their reservations about the scheme known at a meeting with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farou.
