To cushion the effects of the lockdown occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic, the Chief Executive Officer of Avatar Special Quality Batteries, Mr. Chinedu Ehirim has distributed truckloads of food items to thirteen (13) communities in Ibeme and Ibeme-Amaise in Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
The food items which include; 2,500 cartons of noodles, 800 bags of beans, and 600 bags of rice were distributed yesterday, Wednesday, 22nd April 2020, at St. ITAS Nursery and Primary School Field, Ibeme.
Speaking during the distribution of the food items, Mr. Chinedu Ehirim said that the palliative was part of his personal contribution towards complementing the efforts of the government and other Public-spirited individuals in assuaging the hardships being experienced by his people due to the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
According to him, the distribution of the food items across the different communities is targeted at the most vulnerable, who are most affected by the shutdown of economic activities.

While advising the leaders of the different communities to ensure the proper distribution of the food items, he urged the public to continue to take the precautionary measures recommended by the government and health experts.
Appreciating Mr. Chinedu Ehirim for his philanthropic gestures, the Traditional Ruler of Ibeme Ancient Kingdom, Eze C.E Okorike (Ph.D.), commended Mr. Chinedu Ehirim for the palliative he provided for his people. According to him, the food items will help to ameliorate the sufferings of people in the community.
He praised Chinedu Ehirim for his continuous show of love for his people, urging other privileged individuals to emulate the young businessman.
On his own part, the President-General of Ibeme Improvement Union, Hon. Martins Ibekwe praised Chinedu Ehirim for the food items he donated to the different communities, praying that God Almighty will replenish his pocket.
Speaking also, the Chairman of COVID-19 Sensitization/Response Task Force in Isiala Mbano, Prof. Chinedu Ogbuji, emphasized on the need for the public to take preventive measures to curb the spread of the disease, he praised Mr. Chinedu Ehirim for assisting the government in providing palliatives for the people.
Speaking to our correspondent, Mrs. Nneokwukwe Osuji who is the President-General of Ibeme Improvement Union Women-Wing, expressed her Joy for the intervention of Chinedu Ehirim, which she described as timely, noting that the food items will help mitigate the rising hunger in the benefiting communities.

Chief Joe Ohiaegbunam, the Public Relations Officer of Ibeme Improvement Union, Chief Ahamefuna Ibeme, and the Local Government Councilor of Ibeme Ward, Hon. Richard Ike.
