Tanker Loaded With kerosene & Peugeot Wagon Crash In Anambra

A Road Traffic Crash involving a Tanker (Mack Truck), laden with kerosene and driven by Mr. Maduegbuna Obinna and a blue coloured Peugeot 206 Station Wagon, driven by Mr. Chigozie Chidiobi both without registration numbers, occurred at about 10.20am today, Friday 24 April, 2020 at Abba Junction, along Nteje-Awka Expressway.

According to information made available to the press by the Public Relation Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, Pascal A. Anigbo, Fire Service was called and they responded immediately, to avert any possible fire outbreak.

The area has been cordoned off and traffic is being managed by FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command. Arrangements for trans-loading of the product and clearing of obstruction are in top gear.

The crash which was caused by Speed Limit Violation and Loss of Control, had a total of Six people (3male adults, 1 female adult and 2 children) involved. No injury and no death was recorded.

The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi warns motorists to desist from violating speed limits, which often than not lead to loss of control and avoidable road mishaps.

He advises drivers to drive with common sense speed limits, especially at built up areas. People are also advised to stay at home, keep social distance and obey other protective protocols as issued by the NCDC and the State Government in order to curb the spread of Corona Virus.

Anaedoonline.com reported that due to the coronavirus outbreak, which has been addressed as a global pandemic by WHO, many countries have implemented stringent rules on protecting its citizens from the deadly virus and as well curtail the spread of the pandemic.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has added their voice on the need to implement the various lockdown order in different states across Nigeria.

In Nigeria, many states has implemented total lockdown, such states like Lagos, which is the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria has implemented a directive of dusk to down lockdown, but some Nigerians have flouted the lockdown order in different states.
