Diogo Jota Wins FIFA E-Premier League Competition

Football all over the world has been put on hold following the coronavirus pandemic which has put everyone and activities on lockdown.

These gave rise to the commencement of ePrimier league competition which saw major Premier League players from 18 different teams battle it out for a place in the final.

The e-league which was just concluded saw Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Liverpool making them this seasons’ ePremier League champions!

The competition saw Players like Raheem Sterling and Wilfred Zaha took their skills from the pitch to the screen in a nail-biting series of matches.

But it was Wolves’ Diogo Jota who went head to head with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold in the final of the tournament.

Jota scored the first goal and was in control for the first half of the match but looked a little shaky in the second half when Alexander-Arnold equalised.

Extra time saw virtual Raúl Jiménez belt one last goal in for Wolves, and Jota was crowned the winner

While it’s unlikely that Wolves will win the real-life Premier League when it returns, maybe their virtual success can motivate them in the future.

Anaedoonline.com reported that Soccer in England has been suspended because of coronavirus which has caused more than 20,000 deaths in Britain, with games likely to be held without fans present once the season resumes.

The decision of weather to end the league or play the remaining games behind closed doors have continue to be the topic of discussion.

But with several meetings among club administrators, the Premier League season will be concluded with teams like Arsenal already in training.

Crystal Palace Manager Roy Hodgson in an interview said “The EPL will be concluded after the COVID-19 shutdown is over instead of using “artificial means” to decide the champions as well as relegation and Champions League spots.

The season was originally suspended until April 30 but was extended indefinitely, with the resumption of play now contingent on medical advice and government support.

Hodgson revealed that The English Premier League clubs are all in total agreement that the season needs to be completed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
