Bizarre: Lawmakers Lead Demolition of Residential Houses, Shops in Anambra (Photos)

Lawmakers in Anambra State House of Assembly led by the Chairman House Committee on Lands, Hon. Arthur Ifeanyi Chiekwu has supervised the demolition of houses in Anambra State.Anaedoonline.com reliably gathered that the demolished buildings which are numbering over Five (5) were demolished in different towns in Anambra especially in Nnewi, Nnobi, Awka, and Onitsha.

The demolition team was led by Hon. Arthur Ifeanyi Chiekwu, and some of his committee, today, Saturday, 2nd May 2020, directed the demolition of a building located at Umuanuka Village, Otolo Nnewi, in Nnewi North Council Area.

The demolition team was joined by the Executive Chairman of Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Barr. Chike Maduekwe, also visited some buildings in Motorcycle Spare Parts International Market, Nnewi, and residential houses in Nnobi, and reportedly directed owners to report to Awka on Monday or risk demolition.

Attempts to get the reaction of the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, on the activities of this House Committee at the time of writing, proved abortive.
