‘I Am Ready To Return To Arsenal’ – Cazorla

Former Arsenal star and Villarreal midfielder, Santi Cazorla, has admitted he would love the chance to return to Arsenal as part of Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff.

The 35-year-old has impressed during his return to Spain, earning a recall to the Spanish national team after a four-year absence.

Cazorla spent six years at the Emirates, where he helped the Gunners win two FA Cup titles under Arsene Wenger. He has now indicated that he would be open to working as a coach under Arteta once his playing career finishes.

In his words “I don’t know what my legacy is [at Arsenal]. You have to ask the fans, but I want to thank everyone. I don’t know what I will do next, maybe a coach, maybe a sports director, but I would like to come back,” Cazorla told Vamos.

“When you are at a big club like Arsenal, sometimes you don’t realise what it means to be there until you are gone.

“I never got to say a proper goodbye. It was the biggest team I played for in my career and I miss everything about Arsenal.

“I don’t know what my legacy is there, you would have to ask the fans, but I want to say thank you to them all. I would like to play at the Emirates one last time before I retire.

“I don’t know what I will do afterwards  maybe a coach, maybe a sporting director  but I would love to go back to Arsenal.

“I lived in London for six years. My son loved it there. In the future, we will see if I have the possibility,” he told The Independent

Cazorla has said he would love to return to Arsenal, as he wasn’t able to say “a proper goodbye” to the fans.

Spanish midfielder, has always wanted to work with  Mikel Arteta ever since he was appointed the club’s new manager.

Arteta signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, to replace Unai Emery.

When asked if he could become the latest former Arsenal player to return to the club, following Arteta’s appointment as the club’s new manager, Cazorla was quoted by Football London as saying:

“In the future, who knows? I will certainly have to work out what I want to be doing and it is right to say that we have a great relationship and many times we have talked about what the future will bring us.

“I will always be open to helping him [Arteta] because he is my friend and also because of all the things he did for me when I came to England.
