The 2020 NBA draft is billed to hold on June 25. The draft lottery was originally scheduled to take place on May 19 but was rescheduled due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

D’Tigers forward, Jordan Nwora, is confident of a high NBA draft on June 25 despite missing out on CBS Sports and The Atlantic Top 30 and 25 mock drafts.

This spring and summer was supposed to be the most impactful and pivotal stretch of Jordan Nwora’s basketball life. He would have a chance to win his first-ever NCAA Tournament game and lead Louisville on what many hoped would be a memorable March Madness run. Then, he’d show his skills at the NBA Combine, hear his name called during the NBA Draft and finally, suit up for Nigeria in the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Nwora on April 6 declared his intention to enter the NBA draft but despite earlier indication that he would be a top 20 selection, pundits are seeing the Nigerian as a second-round pick, an opinion Nwora disagrees with.

Slam has him going No. 27 overall and NBC Sports places him in the second round, at pick No. 36. USA Today has him at No. 43, while The Athletic slots him at No. 51.

“I think I’ll go a lot higher than a lot of people think based on the feedback I’ve gotten. But you never know until the day comes, I feel like I’m a first-rounder,” he told Courier Journal.

In 2019, Nwora entered for the draft but opted to withdraw from the final event and returned to Louisville for his junior season, where he was the team’s best player for the year and was also named ACC pre-season player of the year.

The D’Tiger’s star was Louisville’s leading scorer and rebounder in 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.

Nwora has recently been rumoured to be a 27th pick by the New York Knicks.
