Gov Obiano Reshuffles Cabinet

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has today, Thursday, 4th June 2020 announced some changes to the state executive council.

Mrs Sally Mbanefo, formerly the Commissioner for Culture , Diaspora and indigenous Artwork is now the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Tertiary Education.

Professor Theresa Obiekezie, formerly the Commissioner for Tertiary Education is now the Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, while Hon. Afam Mbanefo moves to the Transport Ministry from the Ministry of Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy.

Dr. Christian Madubuko, formerly the Commissioner for Transport is now the Commissioner for Culture , Diaspora and indigenous Artwork.

Recently, Obiano made more appointments into his cabinet since his swearing in for a second term last week.

Obiano had earlier sworn in principal officers of his government including commissioner too. The latest appointments were chairmen of parastatals, boards, and special advisers.

The number one citizen of Anambra announced the appointments at the opening session of the retreat for the state new Executive Council members in Awka.

Some of the appointees are Chief Chikodili Anarah, who returns as Special Adviser on Security Matters, Sir Emelie Onyejepu, Special Adviser on Budget Monitoring, and Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, Special Adviser on Political Matters.

Others are, Mr Paul Nwosu, Special Adviser on Farm Implements, Mrs Vera Okonkwo, Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, and Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Special Adviser on Indigenous Medicine and Herbal Practice.

The Governor also announced the appointment of Mrs Amaka Akudo as Special Adviser on Continuous Voter Registration, Mrs Pat Igwebuike, Special Adviser on Legal Matters, among others.

Governor Obiano further announced the appointment of Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa as Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr Jide Ikeakor, new Managing Director of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, ANSIPPA, while the Board of Internal Revenue will be headed by Mr David Nzekwu.
