Paulo Dybala has admitted it would be ‘very nice’ to play for Barcelona, but is not pushing for a Juventus exit having fought to stay at the club last summer.

The striker was heavily linked with a move away from Turin last year, with Manchester United, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain all in talks to sign him.

However, the 26-year-old made it clear he wanted to stay put and he has gone on to make 34 appearances in all competitions this season under Maurizio Sarri, scoring 13 goals. Talk of his future has not died down, though, with his contract expiring in 2022 and the club yet to offer him a new deal.

The Argentina international says a chance to play with his compatriot Lionel Messi at Barcelona would be a wonderful opportunity, but he is also happy to stay with the Serie A champions.

‘The truth is that Barcelona is huge team worldwide and with Messi there even bigger,’ Dybala told CNN.

‘It would be very nice, but Juventus is also an incredible club, very big, full of history, where there are currently great players.

‘There’s enough quality here to make two teams and the chance to play with [Gianluigi] Buffon and Cristiano Ronaldo, who make the club even bigger.’

In another news, Adam Lallana has signed a short-term contract extension with Liverpool until the end of the current campaign.

The 32-year-old midfielder’s contract was due to expire at the end of the month and his representatives have already been approached by Leicester over a possible summer move.

But Lallana has agreed to extend his stay with league leaders Liverpool for a further month and will see out the season with Jurgen Klopp’s side as they aim to secure their first league title in 30 years.

The English Premier League look set to resume next week as clubs have already resumed training weeks backs.
